Abstract Business process management (BPM) drives corporate success through effective and efficient processes. In recent decades, knowledge has been accumulated regarding the identification, discovery, analysis, design, implementation, monitoring of business This includes methods tools for tackling various kinds change such as continuous improvement, reengineering, innovation, drift. However, exogenous shocks, which lead to unintentional radical change, have neglected in BPM research although they severely affect an organization’s context, strategy, note conceptualizes interplay shocks terms effects that can on organizations’ overall performance over time. On this foundation, related challenges opportunities via several rounds idea generation consolidation within a diverse team scholars are identified.
